About Us

At only 25 years old, Steve Estepp started Estepp’s Friendly Shell on Labor Day, 1975 as a gas station dealer and automotive mechanic.

Our History

Steve built up the business over the next decade working on cars, taking care of customers and building relationships that last to this day. In the mid 1980′s, Steve converted the service station and bays into a c-store expanding the grocery and beverage offerings. At the time, it was one of the first c-stores of its kind. Over the years, Steve continued to expand the offerings at Estepp Shell by adding a car wash and installing one of the first Subway restaurants in the Lexington area.

We’ve proudly maintained our family owned tradition. Steve’s son, Steve, has taken over the family business with 11 convenience stores, 3 restaurants, a UPS store, and plans of continuing the growth! If you’re looking for Kentucky proud, clean and dependable service, look no further than just down the road. As it always has, our focus at Estepps’s remains on serving you and creating life-long relationships that we strive to nourish.

Community

Estepp’s Friendly Shell is now partnering with Race Rise of Lexington to promote health and wellness in our community. Race Rise plans and promotes various lengths of races in and around the Lexington area, and Estepp’s is excited to be part of working with them! In addition to the races that are already held by Race Rise, we are excited to be planning our own Estepp’s Walk/Run club, to further promote the health and wellness of our customers! Details will be released as they are finalized!

Additionally, Estepp’s Friendly Shell is partnering with G & J Pepsi to be a drop off location for the Toys for Tots program. Our chain has participated in this for several years and we look forward to several more years of doing so!
